The classic El Presidente cocktail is refreshing and full of flavor. It shares its roots with the also classy Mojito in Havana, Cuba! There is a debate as to when the drink was first created. One such story is that it was created by a native of Cuba back in 1915. This would be a full 5 years before an American step foot onto Cuban soil and created it in 1920. Either way, the drink became the preferred drink of the upper class from the 1920s to the 1940s. if you want to have a truly authentic taste, be sure to use real grenadine!
